For the founder's visual review. Don't merge. This is 2 of 2, stacked on the Calm UI 1/2 port, #1309.

This ports OpenAdaptAI/openadapt-desktop#211 into packages/desktop with git am -3 --directory=packages/desktop. Authorship and the commit message are unchanged.

  • Check it: finished parts fold to their title, so the open question stands out. Saving steps that check the record the same way say so once, instead of once per step. The last part is "Approve this workflow": it says once that the workflow is approved, and after that it stops only when something doesn't match.
  • Watch it run: the buttons read "Run it" and "Replay the recording" instead of "Run with safety gates" and "Replay", and the "Execute" eyebrow is gone. Outcome pills use words (Done and checked, Ran to the end, Ready for real items). Contract labels read Right record / Screen checks / Read-back, with "App type" and a plain target sentence. The progress head no longer uses the mono face.
  • Steps view and Qualification: "Checked / Not checked" instead of "Armed / Not armed", with plain column names.
  • Results: a shorter subtitle; the data-handling note moves to the fine print.

Release: the commit subject isn't a conventional feat or fix, so the release-intent check doesn't require a bump. If this should ship, add a bump at merge time.

Tests: in the original repo, vitest passed (344/344, with test strings updated for the new wording) and so did npm run build. Here, the desktop CI runs them. The name guard and gitleaks found nothing.

- Check it: finished parts fold to their title; saving steps that check the record the same way say it once; the last part is 'Approve this workflow' and says it is approved once, then stops only when something doesn't match.
- Watch it run: 'Run it' and 'Replay the recording' instead of 'Run with safety gates' and 'Replay'; no 'Execute' eyebrow; outcome pills in words; contract labels Right record / Screen checks / Read-back; plain target form copy.
- Steps view and Qualification: 'Checked' / 'Not checked' instead of 'Armed' / 'Not armed'; plain column names.

Before / after: Calm UI 2/2 (desktop)

Before is 213f3f7 (the head of #1309, this PR's base). After is 926d6c9 (this PR's head). Only screens whose pixels changed are shown.

What changed

  • Check it: finished parts fold to one line with a Show link, so the open question stands out. The right-record sentence that repeated three times now shows once. "Approve for use" becomes "Approve this workflow", with one sentence on approving once.
  • Watch it run: the "Execute" eyebrow is gone. Buttons read "Replay the recording" and "Run it" instead of "Replay" and "Run with safety gates". "Application surface" becomes "App type", and "Advanced deployment details" becomes "Settings for the person who sets this up".
  • Watch it run, evidence: "Outcome evidence" becomes "What was checked", with word pills (Check the record, Ran to the end, Not ready for real items yet). Columns read Allowed to act / Right record / Screen checks / Read-back. "Metrics" becomes "Run details". The progress line above the steps no longer uses the mono face.
  • Qualification steps view: "armed" / "not applicable" become "checked" / "not needed".
  • Results: the subtitle drops the two lines about PHI-free hosted reporting; that note moves to the fine print at the bottom.
  • Record: "Application surface" becomes "App type" here too (the shared target form).

Left is before, right is after. Click an image to open it at full size. Shot locally with npm run dev and the synthetic fixtures in packages/desktop/scripts/cockpit-fixtures.mjs, with the same stand-in Tauri host as scripts/capture-cockpit-previews.mjs. No engine, account, recording or real data. The desktop app has one theme (light, data-theme="paper"), so there is no dark set.
