Adds a public SIL.Harmony ActivitySource and traces sync planning, so the Lexbox server's traces show when a client's sync falls back to recovery.

  • Lexbox (LexBoxApi and fw-headless) needs .AddSource(HarmonyActivitySource.ActivitySourceName) in its tracer setup to export the spans.
  • GetCommitsMissingFromRemote plans every client up front in a PlanClients span, which ends before any commit is yielded. It gets a harmony.sync.recovery event per client where either side's PlanFor falls back to sending its whole history. Because both sides are checked, the server records it whichever side does the resending. The event carries this side's plan plus both sides' commit count, head and hash.
  • The span is tagged harmony.sync.remote_heads_only when the peer sends only ClientHeads, so planning compares timestamps alone.
  • No tests: it's telemetry only and can't change what gets synced.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

GetCommitsMissingFromRemote now runs in a span from the SIL.Harmony
source, so a sync server can export it by adding
HarmonyActivitySource.ActivitySourceName to its tracer provider. The span
gets a harmony.sync.divergence event for each client whose commit sets
diverged, tagged with this side's plan. The check is symmetric, so a
server records it whenever the client falls back to recovery. The span is
tagged harmony.sync.remote_heads_only when the peer sends only
ClientHeads and planning compares timestamps alone.

Review in Change Stack →

Walkthrough

The change adds a public activity source name and an internal ActivitySource initialized with the assembly version. Both GetCommitsMissingFromRemote implementations now start a plan activity and use PlanAndRecordRecovery. The helper tags activities for timestamp-only remote state and records recovery details when the specified conditions are met.

Explanation

The description is related to the changeset. It states the PR adds a public SIL.Harmony ActivitySource for sync planning traces. It names HarmonyActivitySource.ActivitySourceName and the GetCommitsMissingFromRemote PlanClients span. It also describes the harmony.sync.recovery event and the harmony.sync.remote_heads_only tag. These match the raw summary of the changes in HarmonyActivitySource.cs and QueryHelpers.cs. The description explains why no tests were added. It is specific enough to pass this lenient check.

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 20.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 5 functions across 2 files.

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

IsRecovering flags a client when either side's PlanFor falls back to
sending its whole history, replacing a separate divergence rule that
reached the same answer only together with its caller's check. The
event is now harmony.sync.recovery and carries both hashes.

Planning only reads the two sync states, so it now runs up front in a
PlanClients span that ends before either iterator yields. Activity.Current
no longer leaks to a caller between items or drops out after the first
yield, and the span measures planning rather than streaming.

* Bump Harmony to 0.2.1-rc.445 and export its traces

Pulls in sillsdev/harmony#155, which adds a SIL.Harmony ActivitySource
that traces sync planning and recovery. Registers that source in
LexBoxApi and FwHeadless so the spans are exported.
