Summary

Turns the release into a single Run workflow click (Actions → Release, branch main, choose patch / minor / major). One run does:

  1. Tests: generates and patches the API client, then runs cargo test --locked
  2. Version: latest vX.Y.Z tag + the chosen bump, written to Cargo.toml and Cargo.lock, so tellers --version matches the release
  3. Changelog: scripts/release_notes.sh groups the commits since the last tag (Features / Bug Fixes / …, with PR links) and adds the result to the top of CHANGELOG.md
  4. Commits chore(release): vX.Y.Z to main and pushes the tag
  5. Builds all 5 targets from that tag and publishes the GitHub release, using the same notes
  6. Updates the formula in tellers-ai/homebrew-tellers

Also fixes the release build, which skipped scripts/patch_generated_api.sh.

The workflow no longer runs on tag push.

Requirements

  • Secret HOMEBREW_TAP_TOKEN (already referenced before this PR)
  • The workflow pushes to main with GITHUB_TOKEN. If branch protection gets added later, github-actions[bot] has to be allowed to bypass it.

Testing

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Release is now a manual "Run workflow" button (patch/minor/major) that runs
the tests, bumps Cargo.toml/Cargo.lock, writes CHANGELOG.md from the
conventional commits since the last tag, commits and tags on main, builds
the binaries, publishes the GitHub release and updates the Homebrew tap.

Also applies scripts/patch_generated_api.sh before building, which the
release build was missing.
