G00-02 — Reconcile product identity, version, and branch references #112

Outcome

One decision fixes the product name, repository, application and package identifiers, version, and default branch, and every user-facing surface agrees with it.

Parent and boundary

Parent: #108. Repository governance; no product behavior change. A change to a protected schema, persisted identifier, or root build contract stops and is reported as a contract change.

Grounding

• README links mberrys/Loop-pdf releases and clone URL and says ci.yml builds a broken .deb on pushes to master; ci.yml now triggers on dev, unstable, and stable and builds no .deb.
• CreateReleaseDraft.yml names artifacts Loop-pdf-* and mberrys.Loop-pdf_*.msi/.msix; the Flatpak manifest is io.github.mberrys.Loop-pdf.
• AGENTS.md declares 0.2.1-alpha; the roadmap requires an exact-head version reconciliation before any version is promised.
• Local checkouts still use studio-berry/loop2 remotes, which work only through GitHub's rename redirect.

Acceptance

• A decision record names product name, repository, application and package IDs, version, and default branch for the exact head.
• README, workflows, packaging manifests, and the AGENTS adapter agree with the decision; no user-facing link points at a retired repository or branch.
• Any change to a persisted identifier (MSI UpgradeCode, MSIX identity, Flatpak app ID, settings or keystore paths) states and proves its upgrade and uninstall behavior before it lands.
• Failure case: renaming a persisted application identifier without migration proof is a contract change; stop and report it.

Required proof

Identity-string audit output; packaging dry-run evidence for any changed identifier (a configure or packaging run needs approval). Record the exact source SHA and run the repository's check-change gate for a PR with an internal changelog fragment.

Handoff

Record changed files, observed result, remaining risk, and a 1–3 sentence anti-slop review.

G00 implementation record, 2026-10-10

PR #262 implements the identity decision. Product Loop, repository studio-berry/loop, source version 0.2.1-alpha, default stable, qualification unstable, and integration dev agree. Persisted package/application identifiers remain unchanged; README links, update metadata, and current AppStream metadata are reconciled.

Implementation head: 78f9c0bce909bca7f95cc5b6c701043e61332087. The required check-change gate passed using the existing build with identical plugin ABI inputs. 117 Python cases and the mapped ABI test passed; one optional PdfTool runtime case skipped. Hosted CodeQL checks passed at this head; the native CI build is still running. Full package qualification remains pending. This record does not grant release admission.
