The return shortcut now also goes to the source window when Whiteboard is active: the selected LiveView, then the last one visited, then the only one with a source window. Preferences -> Live View -> Source window shortcut offers Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W (default), Ctrl+Alt+. and Ctrl+Alt+J. The hotkey is registered only while a LiveView has an available source window or a visit is under way, because it takes the keys from every other application. Summary
Add a third LiveView button to activate its source window, and one system-wide shortcut for both directions. From Whiteboard it goes to the source window of the selected LiveView, then the last one visited, then the only one with a source window. From any other application it returns to Whiteboard and resumes that feed. Activating the existing windows follows their virtual desktops. The visited feed keeps capturing while editing, including when background capture pausing is enabled.
Preferences → Live View → Source window shortcut offers Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W, Ctrl+Alt+. and Ctrl+Alt+J. Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W is the default because a registered hotkey takes its keys from every other application, Ctrl+Alt combinations type characters with AltGr on many European layouts, and Visual Studio uses Ctrl+Alt+J. A fixed list avoids having to reject Whiteboard's own shortcuts and reserved Windows-key combinations. For the same reason the shortcut is registered only while a LiveView has an available source window or a visit is under way. A conflict is reported when jumping or when the preference changes, and the shortcut is released on close.
Preserve the Windows capture picker. Automatically match its result by title and exact capture dimensions, enabling navigation only for a unique candidate. Display captures, ambiguous matches, and matching failures keep capture working with navigation disabled. Retain the matched handle and process ID for the capture session.
Link newly drawn strokes to the frontmost container they touch. Ink drawn on overlapping containers now follows the top container; a stroke spanning multiple containers also follows the frontmost one. Existing stroke links are preserved. Update documentation and regression tests for stacking order, overlaps, and crossing strokes.
Bump the version to 1.7.8, with release notes for both changes.
Validation
--liveview-navigation-captureon an interactive desktop; they are not silently skipped after errors.Interactive verification
Alberto confirmed that the cross-desktop round trip works in an interactive test, before the shortcut became two-way and configurable. The shortcut's forward direction and the Preferences row have not been tried interactively yet.
Matching remains best-effort because the Windows picker does not expose its source HWND. See
