A starting point for #73, for you to reword.

What's here

New page, docs/steam-frame.md. Each item on the #73 checklist becomes a section:

  • Install: which download the Frame needs. Discover works, or there's a flatpak install command.
  • Getting MO2: Install MO2 works, with no need to close Steam, followed by a reboot. Using an existing instance also works.
  • The ARM64 fix: when it's needed, where it's offered (Home's next step and the Mod Organizer 2 sheet), that MO2 must be closed, and how to undo it. It links usvfs-arm64.md for the details instead of repeating them.
  • Playing: the pointer works in MO2 through Steam. In Desktop Mode, use a mouse or keyboard (Steam Frame Desktop Mode: VR pointer and split X displays (worked around in #61; optional upstream reports) #70).
  • Reboot instead of restarting Steam: turn on Run in background, then reboot. The Play button can also be switched by hand under Properties → Compatibility.
  • Troubleshooting: the Flatpak that won't start after a reboot, the missing cursor, and modsync diagnostics.
  • Known limits.

README. Small edits in your style:

  • which download to use, x86_64 or aarch64
  • a Frame note on "close Steam for the first run" and on "restart steam"
  • a short "Steam Frame" section linking the page

docs/usvfs-arm64.md. It still said Apply ARM64 fix is in "the dashboard's MO2 card and the Steam launch hub". The redesign replaced both, so it now names Home's suggestion and the Mod Organizer 2 sheet.

docs/advanced.md links the new page, and CHANGELOG has an Added entry.

Found while writing it

These are code problems on the Frame. The page describes them as they are rather than as they should be:

  • Keep this version: while the pin waits, Home and the Game version sheet say "Close Steam…", which can't be done on the Frame. The Play-button switch already says "At reboot" there.
  • Unpin and Add ModSync shortcut to Steam: both refuse while Steam runs and aren't queued for a reboot, so neither can be done from ModSync on the Frame. The page lists them under Known limits, with Steam's own alternatives.

Fixing these in code would let the page drop those caveats. Possibly fold them into #74's pass.

Refs #73. It doesn't close it, so you can close it after rewording.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Adds docs/steam-frame.md for #73 and links it from the README and
advanced.md. The README also says which download the Frame needs and to
reboot where it says to restart Steam. usvfs-arm64.md named the dashboard's
MO2 card and the launch hub, which the redesign replaced.

A starting point for Elaine to reword.
