Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved dashboard item creation and updates by applying settings in a consistent order and handling failed saves more safely.
    • Fixed dashboard item ID validation so an item can retain its own ID while IDs used by other items are still rejected.
    • Improved handling of dashboard items that do not have an ID.

…g tile, and itemIcon / name from the API are ignored

- Modify `findCasesElastic` usage to prevent duplicate dashboard item IDs.
- Implement batch processing for dataset updates with error handling rollback.
- Add data splitting by configuration phases to manage dashboard item updates.
- Enhance null-check for `id` in `DashboardItemBody.toDataSet`.
- Clean up unused imports and improve method documentation.

Walkthrough

Dashboard item datasets now omit null IDs and are written in ordered batches. Both dashboard-item ID checks inspect multiple active matches and allow the current item to retain its ID.

toDataSet() omits the ID entry when id is null. The service partitions data into ordered batches, writes each batch before task completion, and attempts to cancel the task if a batch write or task completion throws a runtime or transition-execution exception.
Validate dashboard item IDs
application-engine/src/main/resources/petriNets/engine-processes/dashboard_item.xml
Both ID checks query up to 100 active matches and reject the ID only if a match belongs to a different use case.

Updating an existing dashboard item now writes its data in several steps. If a later step fails, the item can stay inactive with only some changes applied. Make the update atomic or restore the original state on failure before merging.

Restore the case state when a phased update fails.

A later DataService.setData call or finishTask can fail after earlier batches have been saved. cancelQuietly only returns the task tokens and saves the current case; it does not restore the previous dataset. The assign event has already set is_active to false, so an existing dashboard item can remain inactive with partial updates.

The finishTask failure path also existed before this PR. The phased writes add new failure points between batches and therefore worsen the partial-state window. Use one atomic write sequence, or restore the original case data and active state when any phase fails.

- Implement rollback mechanism to restore original data when a step fails during batch updates.
- Add `buildRollbackBatches` to capture field values for restoration.
- Introduce `restoreQuietly` to reapply original data silently.
- Update error handling to maintain item state integrity during failures.

Is it needed to be Object type or it is just because of casting? Data field "item_id" is text field, so its value should always be String.
