I updated the Mimir library to the latest version, that now uses flutter "native assets" feature. Before, the built library was pulled from GitHub, now it is built from source right when the APK is built.
Can you confirm that the fact that the library was a pre-built one pulled from GitHub the only reason we needed to build it from source? I assumed it was but I'm not actually certain.
So assuming that, I have removed the step needed to build that library. It's the line that executes fdroid_build_mimir.sh.
@linsui I've never used Rust, but as I understant it, mimir is a Rust workspace, so the Cargo.lock will be located in the the root directory, not in packages/mimir/native. Is that ok?

Yes, was expecting that error.

There is at least another problem: there is no Cargo.lock file in https://github.com/GregoryConrad/mimir/tree/mimir-v0.2.1%2B2/packages/mimir/native. So the build is maybe not reproducible.

I see, I can ask the developer to include it.

@linsui I'll make a PR to add the cargo.lock in the mimir repo.

We just need the versions to be locked so we can rebuild the same binary. The lock file can be put anywhere as long as it works. :)

Ok, great. I'm creating the PR to add it and will tag you again when I release the next version so you can check if it all works out!

Hi @linsui, did the build work with the new version?
linsui commentedon Jun 21, 2026
Nope, you need to update mimir to the commit with the Cargo.lock file.

Oh yeah of course 🤦
