CuTeDSL kernels and output handling cula/ops/kda/sm100/intra_fused.py, cula/ops/kda/sm100/recompute_wu.py, cula/ops/kda/sm100/full_port.py, cula/ops/kda/sm100/akk_inv_fp32.py, cula/ops/kda/sm100/akk_inv_tf32.py |
The intra and recomputation paths support separate query/key and value head counts, packed variable-length inputs, and optional QG output. They add stream-aware launches and pooled output handling. A full-port entry point combines intra computation, inversion, and W/U recomputation. |
Public routing and native-extension removal cula/kda/chunk_intra.py, cula/kda/chunk_bwd.py, cula/cudac.py, csrc/api/*, csrc/kda/sm100/*, setup.py, README.md, REPO_LAYOUT.md, .coderabbit.yaml |
Public SM100/SM103 paths select CuTeDSL. The SM100/SM103 native bindings, kernels, and build targets are removed. The README and repository layout describe the SM90 native extension and CuTeDSL JIT kernels for SM100/SM103. The review configuration disables the docstrings check. |
Benchmarks, tests, and status documentation benchmarks/*, tests/test_kda_sm100_*, docs/kda_sm100_cutedsl_fwd_status.md |
Benchmarks exercise CuTeDSL paths. Tests cover output digests, numerical precision, determinism, stream isolation, storage, and memory retention. The status document describes supported inputs, dispatch, contracts, and validation. |

README.md:29
📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winThe pre-built wheel description is stale.
This line still says the pre-built wheels are "fat-binary wheels (SM90 + SM100 + SM103)". After this PR, SM100/SM103 use CuTeDSL JIT and the wheel contains only the SM90 extension. This also contradicts the updated heading on Line 60. Reword it to describe the SM90 native extension plus CuTeDSL JIT for Blackwell.

Review comments at @cula/ops/kda/sm100/full_port.py:
- Line 235: Move the exception-handling boundary in the full-port execution flow
so `_compile_full_port` and the metadata and dummy-tensor getters run inside the
`try` that releases `intra_entry` and `wu_entry`. Alternatively, perform
compilation before acquiring either pool entry; ensure compile failures cannot
leave acquired entries busy.
Review comments at @cula/ops/kda/sm100/intra_fused.py:
- Line 3020: Open the try block immediately after `_acquire_exact_port_outputs`
and include wrapper creation, `make_host_function`, compilation, and kernel
launch so any failure releases the pooled entry via `release_after_error()`.
Apply the same ordering fix to `_acquire_output_buffers` and
`chunk_kda_fwd_full_sm100_from_gk`.
- Around line 2724-2725: Update _ExactPortOutputEntry.is_free and its liveness
tracking in attach so pool reuse remains blocked while any derived view retains
the output storage; if storage lifetime cannot be tracked reliably, stop pooling
these outputs. Apply the same fix to _OutputPoolEntry only if it has the same
wrapper-versus-storage behavior.
- Around line 1417-1419: Update the packed beta prefetches in the `sBeta_pf` and
`sBeta_ns` load paths to clamp each row at its sequence’s end, using the current
chunk’s and next chunk’s `mCuSeqlens` boundaries respectively. Preserve the
existing load behavior for non-variable-length inputs.
Review comments at @cula/ops/kda/sm100/recompute_wu.py:
- Around line 1419-1422: Start the try block immediately after
`_acquire_output_buffers` so `_compile_recompute_wu` runs inside it and
compilation failures release `output_entry` rather than leaving it busy.

before the path split in chunk_kda_fwd_intra_sm100_from_gk. This ensures both
regular and varlen paths use the fixed-stride kernel views correctly while
avoiding copies for already-contiguous inputs.

Summary
Numerical behavior
Performance
Complete public forward path, native baseline vs pure CuTeDSL, B=2 H=64:
GVA BF16, B=1 Hq=16 Hv=64 T=4096: 0.2468 ms native vs 0.2379 ms CuTeDSL (1.038x).
The gain is from the CuTeDSL kernels and lower host-dispatch overhead on the combined path; gate activation and cumsum are not fused into the exact migration path.
Validation
The implementation remains compatible with the supported
nvidia-cutlass-dsl>=4.4.2,<4.7,!=4.5.0range and was validated with 4.6.2. A trial upgrade did not remove the composed-host compiler limitation, so batch-size-one uses the modular pure-CuTeDSL path.Summary by CodeRabbit
