There shouldn't be a public/private distinction here at all - Attestations are only available on GHEC and must be explictly enabled in workflows, regardless of repo visibility.

Learn more. hi @ahpook thanks for your feedback, the thread has gotten a bit busy, but I'm not quite sure what to say in regards to your comment - it seems to me that it contradicts this statement:
So, that being said, I can't tell you where the truth lies in the matter, but if you are correct then the doc cited in this comment probably must also be updated.
