Summary

Two new pages in the home-automation section, and a tidy-up of the section so everything goes live together.

New pages

  • From ETS to Home Assistant: Generating the KNX Configuration (/projects/home-automation/ets-to-home-assistant/)
    • The options for getting a KNX project into Home Assistant: the KNX panel, YAML by hand, ets-to-homeassistant, nickol-knx-mcp, and an own generator.
    • The generator pipeline (per-room YAML packages, areas, a generated phone dashboard) and its rules, with a made-up example.
    • A section on a common pitfall: two devices answering the same GroupValueRead, with a sequence diagram, how to find the second responder (group monitor, xknxproject script), and the fix in ETS.
    • Phone screenshots of an invented demo house, generated with the same dashboard script against a local demo Home Assistant. No real names, addresses or values.
    • A short hardware note: a Beelink EQ14 mini PC under Proxmox, linked to Beelink's own shop page (plain link).
  • Velux Roof Windows with KNX Buttons, through Home Assistant and the KLF 200 (/projects/home-automation/velux-klf200-knx/)
    • Home Assistant as the bridge between KNX buttons and Velux io-homecontrol products, with a made-up example package.
    • The example is wrapped in Liquid raw tags, so the page shows the Home Assistant templates unchanged.
    • What the end of the KLF 200 means: the KLF 150 has no local API; for new installations the VELUX ACTIVE gateway (KIG 300) through HomeKit Device; Somfy TaHoma and OpenKNX as other routes, with sources.
    • Screenshots of the same demo house.

All addresses, device addresses and entity names in the examples, diagram and screenshots are invented.

Section tidy-up

  • Overview (/projects/home-automation/, URL unchanged):
    • titled "Home Automation";
    • "Weather station" and "Lighting control" typos fixed;
    • the old Raspberry Pi test sentence replaced by the current setup, with links to the new pages;
    • the empty table of contents removed.
  • 2022 Raspberry Pi 4 setup (/projects/home-automation/setup/, URL unchanged):
    • titled "Raspberry Pi 4 Home Assistant Setup (2022)", with an archive notice.
    • Broken images fixed: the header image name; eight installation screenshots that were never committed (the steps stay as text); a wiki page used as an image (now a link).
  • Redirects: four pages (the overview itself, the setup page, Voltus, KNX button selection) had redirect_from: /projects/home-automation/.
    • jekyll doctor reported four redirect pages on the overview's own URL; the overview only won because Jekyll writes collection documents last.
    • All four entries are removed.
  • Other fix: a doubled folder in an image link on the KNX button selection page.
  • Sidebar:
    • "Home Automation" (Voltus, KNX Button Selection);
    • "KNX + Home Assistant" (the two new pages);
    • "Older projects" (the 2022 Raspberry Pi 4 setup and the 2019 temperature and humidity page).

Checks

  • Local Jekyll build: all 267 internal links, images and anchors of the section's seven pages resolve.
  • The code blocks on the built pages equal their source.
  • Both YAML examples pass Home Assistant 2026.9.4's configuration check as rendered; the Velux example also passes a native behaviour test.
  • Images carry no metadata.
  • gitleaks finds nothing.

Context

The pages were drafted and reviewed privately before this PR. The owner merges after an independent review of this PR and its preview. Squash merge.

…ction

New pages:
- From ETS to Home Assistant: generating the KNX configuration, with the read-flag pitfall (which
  device answers a GroupValueRead), a sequence diagram and phone screenshots of an invented demo
  house.
- Velux roof windows with KNX buttons, through Home Assistant and the KLF 200: the bridge with a
  tested example package, and the routes for new installations now that the KLF 200 is
  discontinued.

Section tidy-up: the overview is titled Home Automation and points to the new pages; the 2022
Raspberry Pi 4 setup keeps its URL as an archived page with its broken images fixed; four
redirect_from entries that built redirect pages on the overview's own URL are removed; the sidebar
groups the pages into Home Automation, KNX + Home Assistant and Older projects.
