The 3.9.0 release keeps ST's stock USB ID 0483:5740 (the pod's own pid.codes 1209:EC10 waits for a later release).

  • Detection is unchanged: by VID 0483 (and 1209 for pre-release builds), and flash-self finds the pod again by USB serial number.
  • packaging/linux/70-benchpod.rules: 0483:5740 for every STM32 firmware, 1209:0001 for pre-release 3.9.0 builds (the EC10 line from the first commit is gone again).
  • flash-self messages no longer promise a new USB ID; Windows may still assign a new COM port to the composite device.

The pod's own pid.codes PID is EC10 (pidcodes.github.com#1311). Detection is by
VID 1209 already, so the CLI finds either; the Linux udev rule now lists EC10
next to 0001 (test builds). Additive: fine to ship before the firmware switches.

The release decision moved 3.9.0 back to 0483:5740 (1209:EC10 later). The udev
rule lists 0483:5740 for every STM32 firmware and 1209:0001 for pre-release
3.9.0 builds; flash-self no longer promises a new USB ID (Windows may still
give the new composite device a new COM port); README notes ST's VCP driver
on Windows. Detection was already by VID 0483 and by serial number.
