feat: drop the 6-hour window and sort commits by stars on the links pages - #1515
Trying the topics list in production showed every link as quiet: few stars arrive within 6 hours, so the list tested the wrong thing.
/links drops the 6-hour window and the "quiet" section. Every link is drawn the same way, ordered by how many people shared it over the last 30 days (the ranking it already fell back on). Each one nests its most starred commits of all time, then its newest.
/links?url=… lists the most starred commits first, then the newest. It was newest first. The feed is marked as ranked, which removes its day markers, and the end message no longer calls the last commit the first one.
The order by stars relies on the computed stars_count in the cursor pagination, covered by a test across two pages. Checked locally on both pages, including loading the next page of a link with 28 commits.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Updates
Link commits are now ordered by all-time star counts, with newer commits first when counts are tied.
Link listings use approved-commit activity from the last 30 days and retain their existing ordering by people, commits, and recent mentions.
Links now appear in a consistent format instead of being split into active and quiet groups. Recent-mention times and six-hour star counts are no longer displayed.
The commit feed is marked as ranked, and its ending text now indicates that it shows every commit about the link.

feat: rank links and their commits by stars of all time on the links pages
feat: drop the 6-hour window and sort commits by stars on the links pages
Nov 7, 2026
Commit ranking now uses total stars instead of stars from the preceding six hours. Top-links results no longer include recent-star fields, and the links page renders all links without a separate quiet-links section.

Summary
Commit star ordering app/Queries/LinkCommitsQuery.php, tests/Feature/Controllers/LinkControllerTest.php
Commit queries order and rank visible commits by total stars, then by creation time and ID. Tests cover ordering across cursor-paginated pages.
The page renders every link through LinkTopic and removes the quiet-link presentation. CommitFeed is marked ranked and refers to every commit about a link.
The ranking and links-page changes have no established issue that should block merging after normal checks.
