What this does

Bumps Programa from 0.4.0 to 0.5.0 and finishes the changelog for everything that landed since the last milestone. Merging this doesn't publish anything by itself — the next green run on main after this lands ships as 0.5.<run number> on the existing rolling release, same as every other commit.

Do not merge yet: other pending PRs should land first so their changes end up under the 0.5.0 heading. This branch bumps the version and finishes the changelog; it should go last.

• Release pipeline now publishes macOS and Windows builds together from one rolling release.
• README repositioned against tmux and cmux, with a refreshed screenshot (docs: position Programa against tmux and cmux, refresh the hero screenshot #343).
• Idle CPU, dock icon memory, and closed-workspace retention perf pass (perf: idle CPU, dock icon memory, and closed-workspace retention #335), plus session preservation and native window interaction fixes (fix: preserve sessions and restore native window interactions #336).
• Agent Overview, worktree workspaces, and the removals (SSH remote, mobile bridge, browser import wizard, AppleScript) already listed under [Unreleased] before this PR.

Version bump

./scripts/bump-version.sh (minor): MARKETING_VERSION 0.4.0 → 0.5.0 in GhosttyTabs.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj, CURRENT_PROJECT_VERSION bumped past the latest published appcast build. node --test scripts/*.test.js passes (214/214), including the Sparkle monotonic-build guard — it only requires the build number to increase, not the marketing version, and it does.

No other file carries a hardcoded 0.4.0: the Windows csproj takes its version from an MSBuild property (ProgramaVersion), not a committed literal.

TODO before shipping the actual release

• PR Fix 2026-09-11 codebase audit findings #334 (2026-09-11 audit findings) is still open. If it lands before this merges, its changelog-worthy fixes should be folded into the [0.5.0] section before merge.
• PR perf: build once in CI, shard unit tests, warm local tagged builds #347 (CI speedups) and PR perf(windows): shrink the self-contained exe from 221 MiB to 89.7 MiB #348 (Windows EXE size reduction) are also still open; not in this changelog because they haven't merged. Add them if they land first.

Not doing

Per CLAUDE.md, a v0.5.0 tag is optional and not pushed here — the user wants the releases page to hold a single rolling entry, so this PR does not publish a milestone release.
