CodeQL reads the Python code and the workflow files (actions) on pull requests, on main and every Monday; findings go to the Security tab. Dependabot checks GitHub Actions and pip once a week, one grouped pull request per kind, at most two open at a time. Bite had no code scanning and no automatic dependency updates. This adds both, kept quiet:
.github/workflows/codeql.yml: GitHub's CodeQL reads the Python code and the workflow files (actions) on pull requests to main, on pushes to main, and every Monday. Findings go to the Security tab. Actions pinned by SHA like the rest of the repo;permissions: {}at the top, onlycontents: read+security-events: writefor the job; stale runs cancel..github/dependabot.yml: GitHub Actions (workflows + rootaction.yml) and pip (pyproject.toml), checked once a week on Monday morning (Eastern), all updates of each kind grouped into one PR, at most 2 open at a time.No change to the main ruleset: the new CodeQL jobs are not required checks.
Checked: both files parse as YAML;
