Summary

  • Follow system appearance in Ghostty with Catppuccin Latte for light mode and Dracula+ for dark mode.
  • Use Pi’s system theme and semantic colors in the custom prompt/status bar instead of fixed Dracula colors.
  • Keep a subtle gray Bash prompt strip, choosing a light or dark background from macOS appearance on each new prompt; retain terminal-palette foregrounds and a dark fallback elsewhere.
  • Mark the prompt’s erase-line escape as non-printing for Readline.

Validation

  • make lint passed with ShellCheck supplied through a temporary uvx environment.
  • make format passed.
  • Verified Bash dark/light/dark selection, non-macOS fallback, preservation of existing prompt hooks, and actual PS1 expansion.
  • Verified Pi dark/light/dark rendering, semantic status colors, high-context warnings, and line widths from 1–160 columns.
  • Verified Pi system-theme regeneration against the installed Ghostty Dracula+ and Catppuccin Latte palettes.
  • Audited the staged diff for sensitive information and unrelated changes.

Scope

Only theme-support changes are included. Existing local padding, model/provider, and other configuration edits are intentionally excluded.

Apply

Reload Ghostty with Command-Shift-comma, run /reload in Pi, and source ~/.bash/prompt in existing Bash shells. The Bash background updates on the next prompt after a system appearance change.
