Why

Reviewing the Codex manifest against OpenAI's submission requirements and validation errors turned up several things that would fail validation on resubmission.

What

Listing fixes (.codex-plugin/plugin.json)

  • Square 247×247 PNG logo for composerIcon and logo. The SVG was 64×67 and OpenAI requires square icons.
  • shortDescription under the 30 character final-submission limit: "Synthetic monitoring as code".
  • supportURL added, required for remote MCP plugins under public review.
  • Privacy and terms URLs point at their final trailing-slash URLs instead of a 308 redirect.
  • longDescription expanded to cover tasks, intended users and limitations, including that env vars are read-only from the plugin after fix: drop environment variable write scope from MCP config #8.

Packaging

  • npm run package builds dist/checkly-plugin-<version>.zip from git ls-files, filtered to the Codex manifest, .mcp.json, .app.json, skills/, assets/, LICENSE and README.md. Untracked files such as .env can't end up in the archive.

Tests

  • test/codex-manifest.test.ts guards OpenAI's text limits, required URLs and the square-logo rule.
  • test/package.test.ts covers file selection and builds a real ZIP from the repo.

Not in this PR

  • Version bump: deliberately skipped.
  • assets/checkly-logo.svg was unreferenced after the PNG switch and is removed.

- square PNG logo for composerIcon and logo (SVG was 64x67)
- shortDescription under the 30 character final-submission limit
- add supportURL, required for remote MCP plugins under public review
- point privacy and terms at their final trailing-slash URLs
- expand longDescription with tasks, intended users and limitations
- add a test guarding these limits
Builds dist/checkly-plugin-<version>.zip from git-tracked files only, so
.env, node_modules, tests, CI and other agents' manifests never ship.
