New knowledge projects currently start with Scaffold project from template, which does not identify the framework or its version. This change uses the approved welcome message:

Create knowledge project with Folderwise {version}

This repository was created with Folderwise, a Markdown-and-Git
framework for knowledge that humans read and AI agents help maintain.

Clean release-tag checkouts record the release version; development and locally modified checkouts record a Git description. Archives use their existing RELEASE-INFO.json. Missing metadata is reported as unknown without preventing project creation. Git author identity, agent/model trailers, and --no-commit behavior are preserved.

The README and usage guide document the creation record. New CLI tests inspect actual first commits across tagged, untagged, dirty, prerelease, archive, worktree, and missing/invalid metadata installations, including an archive inside an unrelated repository.

Validation:

  • Baseline self-test: 829/829 checks passed.
  • Final complete self-test under coverage: 862/862 checks passed; production line coverage 93.95% (85% required).
  • Targeted creation tests: 59/59 passed.
  • Public documentation: 248/248 checks passed.
  • CI helper and release-packaging tests: 54 passed.
  • Pinned Ruff, framework index guard, and diff whitespace checks passed.

This changes the self-test harness to add regression cases; it does not change CI workflows, coverage policy, the framework allowlist, or managed project rules.

Use the approved welcome message with the installed framework version and GitHub link. Cover Git and archive installations while preserving creator attribution.
