Promote the modernization preview to 3.0.0-beta1 and consolidate completed work into a dated changelog entry.
Include CONTRIBUTING.md and SECURITY.md in module archives, with regression coverage for packaged README links. Restore explicit four-space indentation and branch-selection instructions, document the private vulnerability reporting route, and clean up whitespace.
Validation: patch application and whitespace checks passed against master at 7943a21; all 21 packaging and module tests passed on Linux with PowerShell 7.4.13.
Live AD, remote CIM and service authentication remain pending integration validation. This PR does not publish a release or package.
