Monitor your Extreme Networks access points and the Wi-Fi clients connected to them, and use them in Homey flows — presence detection, online/offline alerts, reboots, and more.
Works with free-tier ExtremeCloud IQ accounts.
- Access Point devices — online/offline state, connected-client count, IP address.
- Wi-Fi Client devices — connected state, SSID, access point, IP address — ideal for presence detection.
- Flow triggers — a client connected / disconnected / roamed to another access point, the first client connected, the last client disconnected, an access point came online / went offline, a specific client connected or disconnected, an access point's client count changed.
- Flow conditions — client is connected, access point is online, client is connected to a specific access point.
- Flow actions — reboot an access point.
- Open the app settings and enter your ExtremeCloud IQ username, password and region
host (for example
se.extremecloudiq.com). Use Test to confirm the login. - Click Generate token to mint a long-lived API token. From then on the app authenticates with the token — it no longer needs your password, so you can remove it with Clear credentials. Tokens can be given an expiry and revoked from the settings at any time.
- Add your access points and Wi-Fi clients via Add device.
The app polls every 30 seconds (configurable) and derives connect/disconnect events by comparing successive snapshots.
Turn MFA off, generate a token, then turn it back on. The token keeps working afterwards, because MFA only gates login — the token bypasses it. Password/SSO mode does not work while MFA is on.
- Designed for free-tier accounts: the token is created through your own account's web session and used against the public ExtremeCloud IQ API.
