Why Pharaonic exists

Developers shouldn't have to solve the same problems from scratch in every project.

Pharaonic turns recurring challenges into focused, reusable open-source tools with thoughtful APIs and practical documentation. We believe great developer tools should feel familiar, stay out of your way, and leave you in control.

Our approach is simple:

  • Solve real problems. Build for everyday development needs, not for complexity's sake.
  • Keep it focused. Prefer small, composable solutions over unnecessary dependencies.
  • Make it intuitive. Design APIs that feel natural in the frameworks developers already use.
  • Build for the long term. Value clarity, testing, compatibility, and maintainability.
  • Stay open. Welcome feedback, questions, contributions, and better ideas.

More than code. A community that builds together.

Open source gets better when different perspectives meet. You don't need to know every corner of a framework, have years of experience, or arrive with a perfect solution to contribute.

Where you are How you can make an impact
New to open source Improve documentation, clarify examples, report reproducible bugs, or add missing test cases.
Building with PHP or Laravel Fix issues, improve developer experience, strengthen tests, and suggest useful enhancements.
Experienced engineer Review architectural decisions, help with compatibility, improve CI, and guide technical discussions.

Your first contribution doesn't have to be code. A thoughtful question, a clear bug report, or a better explanation can help the next developer move faster.

Make your first contribution

  1. Explore the repositories. Find an area that matches your interests: Pharaonic repositories.
  2. Find an opportunity. Browse open issues or share a well-defined improvement idea in the relevant repository.
  3. Start a conversation. For larger changes, discuss the problem and approach before writing a lot of code.
  4. Open a focused pull request. Explain what changed, why it matters, and how you tested it. Check for repository-specific guidelines.

What we value in contributions

  • Clarity: Small, reviewable changes with a clear purpose.
  • Quality: Tests, reproducible examples, and useful documentation.
  • Compatibility: Respect for supported versions and existing users.
  • Collaboration: Constructive feedback and an openness to iterate.

No contribution is too small when it makes the experience better for someone else.

The people are part of the project

Every contribution helps shape what Pharaonic becomes. We want the developers behind those improvements to be visible, not hidden behind the code.

Good tools are built with people, not just for them.
