Listing all blogs can be considered exorbitant and pointless.

Hi,

I see on the Resource Hub, in the Community section, that Kedar's Blog is listed (direct link on GitHub).

From this, we can understand that all community blog would be accepted, which can be considered exorbitant and pointless.

It can be considered exorbitant because it would list tens, and maybe hundreds on blog.

It can be considered pointless because Planet for the MySQL Community (and Planet MySQL and Planet MariaDB Server).

I would suggest not listing individual blogs, and having a single entry for Blogs which mentions the aggregators.

If the suggestion above is accepted, I can submit a PR.

Hi, this issue really needs to be discussed and worked out.

It is probably possible to create a separate section for individual blogs. We can also add social networks section for authors who write on social networks.

We don't have to add all individual blogs and social networks on our own, as aggregators do, but the authors can add them themselves if they want.

I might have been not clear enough. My point was not about the work needed to add all. My point was about duplicate information on aggregators -- which is clearly a Community Resource -- and in the individual blogs.

As an example, because Kedar's Blog is on https://oursqlfoundation.org/resources/community/planet-mysql-community/, listing both is cluttering the Resource Section for little use (my own opinion, it can be changed).

I would suggest to not list blogs on aggregators, but I could settle for another solution that avoids cluttering the Resources.

(no particular negative opinion on Kedar's Blog, this would also apply to my blog)

About people posting on social media, I agree their post are non-trivial to aggregate. When I see one, I add them to One-Time-fo-Planet. I am open to other options to make these visible on aggregators or on the Foundation Website (maybe in an Individual Contributor "advocate" list, which could also live side-by-side with a Vendor advocate list (I am using advocate instead of member, because of the special meaning of member in our bylaws).
