After yesterday's update, game crashes to desktop within 30 seconds after unpausing

I've tried loading a few different saves; they all crash to desktop within 30 seconds of unpausing the game.

I have a compressed save file that I'd like to upload as well, but GitHub won't let me upload it for some reason.

Update: I rolled back to 53.14 and the game seems to be working normally.

One interesting detail I noticed: when I load the save in 53.14, the visiting vampire dwarf in my tavern behaves normally. But when I load the save in the latest version, DFhack marks him as a hostile.

It didn't start marking him as a hostile until merchants appeared on the map.

Maybe this has something to do with the instability?

This is most likely a vanilla bug, but I can't tell with the information available. I would need the save and mods (which you can upload to DFFD and provide a link to), the DFHack stderr.log file and any crashlog files generated by either DF's or DFHack's crashlogger, in order to make any progress at all. Also, have you tried loading this fort in DF 53.15 without DFHack loaded? If it crashes without DFHack loaded, it is almost certaintly a vanilla bug and should be reported to Bay12.

The behavior you report around the vampire also makes me think that this is a vanilla bug, especially as I have seen over a dozen reports on the Kitfox discord server of erratic behavior related to vampires, necromancers, and the like.
