This PR was automatically created by the Remediation Agent's Scheduled backlog remediation feature.

Why these issues? All four issues were BLOCKER-severity security vulnerabilities classified as S2083 path traversal risks. These were prioritized for automated remediation because path traversal attacks can lead to unauthorized file access, data exfiltration, or system compromise, making them critical security issues requiring immediate resolution.

Fixed four critical SonarQube path traversal security vulnerabilities (S2083) in post_process.py and task.py. The changes prevent attackers from constructing malicious file paths using user-controlled data by validating paths stay within expected directories, enumerating real files instead of trusting user input, and using path resolution functions to confirm containment before file operations.

Why is this an issue?

Path injections occur when an application uses untrusted data to construct a file path and access this file without validating its path first.

What changed

The path traversal came from joining the untrusted 'selected_patch' value from the selection JSON directly onto the task directory. That joined path flowed into opening meta.json and reading the diff file. This hunk stops building the path from that raw string. Instead, it enumerates the real 'extracted_patch_*.diff' files under the task directory with Path(x).glob. It then picks the one whose relative path equals the selected value. As a result, diff_file can only ever be an existing file inside the task directory, never a '../' or absolute path. This removes the taint for both the meta.json open and the Path(diff_file).read_text() sink.

Why is this an issue?

Path injections occur when an application uses untrusted data to construct a file path and access this file without validating its path first.

What changed

Imports the os module so the log-file write can use os.path.realpath and os.path.commonpath. These calls resolve the path and confirm it stays inside the temp directory before anything is written.

Why is this an issue?

Path injections occur when an application uses untrusted data to construct a file path and access this file without validating its path first.

What changed

Fixes the path injection where the .gitignore content was read, interpolated into a new string and written back with write_text. The copied file already holds the original content, so the code now opens the fixed path Path(d, ".gitignore") in append mode and writes a literal newline. The tainted file content no longer flows into the write sink, which removes the flagged data flow while keeping the same behavior.
