feat: render PDF service task previews in frontend v4 - #4392
Apps using frontend v4 can preview a later PDF or subform PDF task without moving the instance. The renderer uses the selected task's layout set, and supports automatic PDFs assembled from multiple tasks. A subform PDF renders through the hidden copy of the Subform component in the service task's layout, as documented for v4, and uses the subform data element from the URL, so instances with several subforms render the requested one.
Previews of another task keep form data read-only and skip the legacy formatter that only understands the current task. Existing current-task previews, explicit task overrides, and normal navigation retain their behavior.
The matching v8 backend change supplies the task and subform in the rendering URL. Deploy this frontend support before using the new backend preview parameters.
Unit tests added for task and subform selection through the instance routes, PDF readiness, read-only data, legacy calculations, and existing preview/navigation behavior.
Full Jest suite, TypeScript, ESLint, and production build passed after rebasing onto current main.
Cypress E2E tests added/updated.
Manual functionality testing
End-to-end verification through real pdf3 with the matching backend passed; details below.

End-to-end verification (2026-10-23)
Verified in localtest with the real PDF generator, against a .NET 8 app on app-lib-dotnet#1899 with a layout-set PDF task, an automatic PDF task and a subform PDF task with two subforms, for both a subform PDF layout set typed on the parent model and one typed on the subform model:
Previews with taskId of the layout-set task in nb and en, of the automatic task, and of each subform separately rendered the expected layout, language, element and preview footer. The existing preview without taskId is unchanged.
The stored PDFs of the three service tasks are identical to those produced by the current v4 release, and each stored subform PDF holds only its subform. With the layout set typed on the subform model, the stored subform PDFs of an instance with two subforms now render, where the current release times out.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Read-only forms no longer run calculations or update calculated values, including when embedded in another read-only form.
Task selection now correctly matches the requested task.
PDF requests for new-format documents are handled correctly, and task navigation no longer incorrectly appears as a transition in read-only forms.
Improvements
PDF previews are supported in service-task routes, including configured layouts, multiple tasks, and selected subforms.

Walkthrough
Task routes now use PdfWrapper to render selected PDF previews. Previews use read-only form data. End-to-end tests check PDF responses and verify that previews leave instance and data-model state unchanged.

Summary
Resolve and render task-specific PDF requests src/features/instance/useProcessQuery.ts, src/features/pdf/usePdfFormatQuery.ts, src/App.tsx, src/features/pdf/PdfWrapper.tsx
Task lookup uses the matching task ID. Task routes use PdfWrapper, which selects PDF rendering from the layout set or service-task context. The PDF-format query is disabled for new-format PDF tasks.
Lock form data during PDF previews src/features/form/FormContext.tsx, src/features/formData/FormDataWrite.tsx, src/features/formData/FormDataWriteStateMachine.tsx, src/utils/layout/NodesContext.tsx, src/features/formData/FormDataWriteStateMachine.test.ts
FormProvider passes its effective read-only state to FormDataWriteProvider. Read-only models skip legacy-rule execution, and read-only forms do not report task transitions. The state-machine test checks read-only and writable behavior.
Verify PDF preview behavior test/e2e/integration/service-task/pdf-preview.ts, test/e2e/integration/service-task/service-task.ts
End-to-end tests cover current-task, configured-layout, automatic, and subform previews. They check PDF responses and instance and data-model state. The service-task test updates its layout-set intercept and PDF URL.
Altinn/altinn-studio#21362: The changes apply read-only form data to previews of another task. They do not add the page-wide read-only visual state described by the issue.
Altinn/altinn-studio#21367: The changes add subform selection through the subform data element in the URL for subform PDF task previews.
Altinn/altinn-studio#21361: The changes update the frontend preview path for later PDF and subform PDF tasks.
Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 57f63
Two earlier concerns about PDF rendering behavior remain open: task overrides can misclassify a preview as current-task or other-task, and current-task PDFs may lose derived values under read-only form state. These should be resolved or explicitly accepted before merge. The latest test-only changes do not address them.

The preview provider tree is being simplified at the task route. These tests
duplicate the old routing assembly and are superseded by real-app Cypress
coverage of PDF output and unchanged instance data.
PDF requests must render collected data independently of the active process
task. Establish explicit task and model overrides in PdfWrapper before loading
forms, and reuse subform component routing for element selection.
Restore normal process and data-model hook behavior. Propagate the existing
readOnly context through nested forms and writes, and omit the obsolete
formatter for the new preview modes.
Exercise legacy, configured-layout, automatic and selected-subform PDFs against
the real preview endpoint. Verify that rendering preserves persisted data and
process state, including while a service task is active.
Share one form setup between two test groups to avoid repeated instance creation
and form filling. Keep the suite localtest-only until the backend preview
release and test-app deployment are available.

Limit the failure-screen layout mock to its initial request. Render the real
automatic-PDF task on reload so PDF coverage uses unmodified app configuration.
The Service Task app with the preview backend and subform fixtures has been
deployed to staging. Remove the localtest-only skip so CI exercises the real
