There has been a steady trickle of changes since the last release, and Leonard Hecker (@lhecker) is actively working on a lightweight syntax highlighting engine for this very editor. In the meantime, he also had to work on getting it checked in to Windows (so that it is installed by default) and fix some bugs for Windows Terminal (the other project of which he is a maintainer.) But more to your point:
Is there something Edit does not do properly today such that you'd be forced to abandon it if it didn't do that thing? Or is this somewhat of a tongue-in-cheek threat that you'll leave? 🙂 |

Quote from release 1.2: "I expect the rate of releases to rise quadratically from now on. 1.1e19.0 should be out in a few weeks."
No new version since months... Did something happen? Main developers lost interest? Did Microsoft stop the project? I had great hopes for this editor but now I am concerned that I have to look for alternatives again.
