CLAUDE.md — NightClaw Project Context

AT THE START OF EVERY SESSION, run akasha-memory recall: Search for "NightClaw handoff" and "NightClaw architecture" to get full context.

Current State (2026-03-15)

Phase 0 scaffold is COMPLETE. Phase 1 (real implementation) starts NOW.

CRITICAL: Most of src/ needs to be REPLACED with actual code from reference projects. The current TypeScript files were written from scratch — Willie wants real implementations pulled from projects that already solved these problems. Don't reinvent the wheel.

What Is NightClaw

Open-source AI companion framework. Fork of OpenClaw with: Tauri v2 desktop shell, 3D VRM avatar, real-time voice (Fish Audio S2), persistent memory (akasha-memory), Discord voice, screen awareness. Final product is a .exe installer.

  3. Fish Audio S2 — ALREADY at C:\Users\willi\nightclaw-ref\fish-speech USE FOR: TTS API (use their ACTUAL api_client.py patterns, msgpack format) Model: huggingface.co/fishaudio/s2-pro (11GB, gated, needs NF4 for 16GB VRAM)

  4. WebWaifu — github.com/LEOSOLAR8/webwaifu-ai-assistant USE FOR: Client-side Whisper STT, lip sync from audio

  5. OpenClaw-Windows — github.com/niteshdangi/OpenClaw-Windows USE FOR: Tauri 2 desktop patterns, wake word, PTT

RULES

  1. Pull REAL code from reference projects. Don't write from scratch.
  2. App must auto-install everything on first run (except HF login for gated model)
  3. Use msgpack for Fish S2 calls (not JSON)
  4. Final product is an .exe (Tauri NSIS installer)
  5. Credit all sources in commits and UPSTREAM.md
  6. akasha-memory is by AkashaBot — NOT Willie's project

Priority Tasks

  1. Clone all reference repos into C:\Users\willi\nightclaw-ref\
  2. Read their actual VRM/voice/companion implementations
  3. Replace src/ files with real working code
  4. Get Tauri window opening with VRM model rendered
  5. Get text chat working through OpenClaw gateway
  6. Get Fish S2 voice working
  7. Build auto-setup wizard
  8. Test everything
