Summary

Keep the /evolve durable-state refresh action available when self-evolution is disabled.

Reasoning

The overview still reads and displays durable evolution tokens, invocations, and harness state while self-evolution is off, but EvolutionMenuComponent.#overviewEntries() also disabled Refresh behind the evolution toggle. This made the selected action ignore Enter and prevented users from re-reading durable state.

Cancelled jobs are durably marked cancelled-by-operator and filtered from browsing; the existing cancelled records did not prevent overview loading on current main. The cancellation/loading race is already covered by the preceding main fix.

Changes

  • Leave Refresh enabled independently of the self-evolution execution toggle.
  • Keep mutating evolution actions disabled while the toggle is off.
  • Add regression coverage that selects Refresh while disabled and verifies a new overview read.

User impact

Users can refresh evolution tokens and related durable fields without enabling automatic or manual evolution work.

Validation

  • node ../../node_modules/vitest/dist/cli.js --run test/evolution-menu.test.ts (18 passed)
  • ./diffex-test.sh in tmux: /evolve displayed tokens/invocations and Refresh remained selectable with Toggle [off]; selecting it preserved the refreshed overview
  • npm run check reached TypeScript validation, then failed on pre-existing missing generated workspace subpath outputs for @earendil-works/diffex-server/websocket and @earendil-works/diffex-client/websocket
  • ./test.sh passed 246 coding-agent test files (2,206 tests) and then hit the same pre-existing missing @earendil-works/diffex-client/websocket workspace output in packages/coding-agent-server/test/websocket-flow.test.ts
